The 2470 Time Delay can create any program delay from 20 seconds to >24 hrs. Delay time can be set with single frame precision in a hours/minutes/seconds/frames/format through a Graphic User Interface.
Very high image quality is achieved without motion artifacts, by encoding video as I-frame MPEG-2 in 4:2:2 Profile, Main Level, at a fixed rate of 30 Mb/sec. Models are available for NTSC at 525 @ 29.97, and PAL at 625 @ 25 Hz. Inputs and outputs are provided for both SDI and Composite video.
Four audio channels are accepted in either AES/EBU format, or as embedded audio in an SDI stream. Alternatively, two channels of +4 dBu balanced analog audio can be selected. XLR-3 connectors are provided on the rear panel. 360 Systems' Bit-for-Bit® data handling ensures correct playback of Dolby®-E and AC-3 data streams, allowing the transmission of surround-sound program content.
Because The 2470 transports high-value program material, its design incorporates a four-drive, RAID-5 disk array, to enhance reliability in the event of drive failure. Drives are easily replaced from the front without removing the time delay from a rack. Power consumption is low, and forced-air cooling extends component life and reliability.
360 Systems' 2470 Time Delay will maintain long-term single-frame accuracy when connected to a stable genlock reference. It is intended to operate without user intervention; stored settings are non volatile, and are recalled each time power is applied.
